The vocabulary of missing feelings: procression and Happination

תמונה
Procression = procrastination and depression. That ongoing procratstination of something you must do, you know you will not enjoy doing. Having done that, you are overflowed with Happination, that combination of happiness that comes at the end of Procrastination, when life is objectively improved, and that act you postponed so heartily seems so small and easy to have performed. Example: I knew I had to take my car to the car electrician, so that he may find out why it does not start anymore. I knew that at the end of it all, I'd be overwhelmed with Happination. But for now, I could not help but obsess. Is it the battery ? I wondered. Is it something much more difficult to fix ? I shuddered. I had to get over this wave of Procression. "Just one more post", I thought to myself. Then I'll shower. Then I'll find someone to help me start the car with cables, and then - then I'll call the car electrician and see if I can come to him today!

The vocabulary of missing feelings: Elevatativation

תמונה
As I was beginning my work on another short-term project, which might be an expression of my highly-persuasive procrastination  or an outcome of my ingenuity, and only time will tell, I could not help but feel Elevatative.  What is Elevatativation ?  Elevation one knows is short lived....  that tentative elevation which can help a person climb a mountain -   but will be gone when he needs to start climbing down....  Copyright remark: Both Images used in this post are in the Public's domain. The vocabulary of missing feelings: Jealouration

תמונה
Jealouration = when one feels jealousy and admiration, at the same time. Tale depicting the feeling : I Just saw my neighours cars parked near their house. They are a beautiful couple. A local brangelina , if you would like. She was in a business trip at another country for the last 3 weeks. He picked her up at the airport this morning. Now the shades are down in their house. Can you imagine what they might be doing in there ? I could. And a strong tinge of Jealouration passed through me. It is not uncommon to feel sad after a wave of Jealouration passes through one. After all, we all know that the meek do not inherit this earth.

The vocabulary of missing feelings: Incredissapointment

תמונה
Incredissapointment = the feeling one has after an incredible achievment, which turns out to be not enough, but just by the tiniest measurement unit. example: We came so close to changing the political map in these elections. Just a few more votes going our way, and it could have been so very different. I am so incredissapointed! Susan's Boyle amazing performance at "Britan has got talent" does not express incredissapointment in itself. It is a moment of an incredible achievment. But the lyrics of the song she sings, express incredissapointment better than any other song I know: "I dreamed a dream in times gone by... Now life has killed The dream I dreamed."

The vocabulary of missing feelings: Hopeair

תמונה
Hopeair = the combination of despair and hope. Example: As I was looking at the traffic my principled political blog was bringing I felt despair. Nothing I was writing was penetrating the heads of the thick-headed ones who actualy reached my blog, those damn few ! And yet, among the clouds of despair, hope sent her rays of self-persuasion. Tomorrow is another day , wouldn't you say ?

The vocabulary of missing feelings: Empaticism

תמונה
Empaticism = when Skepticism and Empathy meet. Usually a short-lived moment when one needs to decide whether he believes a far-fetched tale, of the type one has told himself in the past.   Demonstrating story: As my friend was telling me about his faith, I couldn't decide which side of my empaticism was winning. On one side, I was rather skeptic about the truthfullness of his tale. On the other side, I remembered the times I felt just like him, and wished that it would be true.

The vocabulary of missing feelings: Nostromia

תמונה
Nostromia=nostalgia of a gastronomic nature. That sudden and somewhat unexplained urge to eat something one has eaten in the past. Example: as I was driving back home, after bringing my child to his kindergarten, I found myself suddenly wishing to eat a nice Middle Eastern Taco. It was quite early in the morning and there was no external logical incentive for this nostromia. Maybe it was this flu I was suffering from, that caused my immune system to broadcast a "we need protein and fats, quick! on double !" to my aware mind ? or was it the non-stopping rain that caused me to wish for a quick meal that makes one warm and fuzzy ? One way or another, this wave of Nostromia was too strong for me, and I found myself driving around, seeking a place to satisfy my nostromia. Sadly, I did not find one, and headed home.  Having a morning ruled by an unsatisfied nostromia is no fun. Happily, now it is noon, restaurants and fast food places are opened, and here I go ! The vocabulary of missing feelings: Repugration

תמונה
Repugration = a strange combination of repugnance and admiration. As I was reading about the I sraeli's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, plan of cancelling the primaries in his own party, which he has been dominating for most of the last 20 years , my heart and mind were filled with repugration. It was not just the man's shameless cunning. It was his endless, infinite, all-consuming ambition.  This image is quoted from Wikipedia. It is in the Public's domain .

The vocabulary of missing feelings: a beginning

תמונה
Every once in a while, one feels that he lacks a word for the accurate description of one's feelings. It might be an unbridgeable gap between the cognitive and the emotional, and yet, one has to make an effort... What is a feeling ? A feeling is a generalizing term for a subjective, aware, experience which can be characterized by psychphysiological & biological expressions and mental states. Feelings such as Love, Hate, Courage, Fear, Enjoyment, Sadness, Disgust, Happiness and others can be described both by physical terms and psychological terms. For example: A feeling can be described by a change in the beating rate of the heart, in the level of sweating, or in the extraction of facial muscles and the formation of facial expressions.  A feeling can also be described by the changes it brings in a person's self-assesment of one's condition, and his pseudo-rational choices of action, upon that self assesment. Different Researchers have proposed different ...
