wanted: a leader with a ... for a people without
we need a knight
in shining armour
with a sword and shield
to call a duel upon our leaders
and lay them on the hill.
oh, i don't mean that old charade
of leaders wise and great,
nor do i mean the ones to kill and maim and hate.
we need a leader with a conscience
for ours is too light,
to help us work together
and help us get it right.
i just fear that mediocreness
has taken its last toll,
and no longer is there any knight,
to come and take the call.
