Humans need clear borders, or so it is known since the dawn of time. Without them, they take liberties which make them fit for crime. But a limited human ? look at them. They are quite benign. Take the end from the human's outlook and you have made him into an empty book. Put an end in front, and you will see him toil with zeal with lust for he knows - he must. We start living, when we realize we will die, tells philosophy. And she does not lie. But why is it that death does not suffice  ? that in addition to that personal annihiliation, humans add group tragedies, the fruit of their imagination ? I think that the answer is clear, simple and sad - deep in our heart, we all know that our civilization is already dead. But why, Instead of striving to give life to a new alternative from the ash we are thriving on the images of our presumed fall and crash ? Is it that we have no faith in our abilities ? Is it that we fear of a worse alterna...

It has been ages since the last time. So M-U-C-H t- i- m- e Has Passed that I no longer really remember. How does it feel ? Is it R-E-A-L-L-Y Real ? Sometimes, obsessing about it, is such an ordeal that I just wish there was some kind of a pill to make this infinite need sum up into some form of nil. But some parts of ourselves are not that easy to kill. Once more, my soul's refusal to kneel before Mundanity's grill makes my spine chill, for I - no other - shall pay the resulted bill. But as the sight of that other path, overflowed by the bulk blocks my throat with a metaphorical chunk I seem to have no other choice but to debunk to rejoice and to find my own voice. Black Friday is here. Shop, shop and shop again, is all THEY wish we did. Like the rhythm of a heart, the shopping drums beat, come! shop fain! but it is another's gain. The beat, these shopping days make, is not delighting one's heart, but light poor peoples' ache. It isn't meant to dance the likes of you or me, but others - those select few, who will remain after this spree of shops - so rich, rich, rich while we scratch the shopping itch. So, why don't all of us ? yes - you and me - stand tall, stand smart, and unite behind this coming BND ?

עת שמעתי לראשונה על  מותו בטרם עת של רמטכ"ל החמאס , לא גאה לבי בעצב. למען האמת, להיפך. מותו של אדם שפקד בקור-רוח על ירי טיל נגד-טנקים על אוטובוס תלמידים איננו יכול להיות דבר רע לגמרי. העולם הוא מקום טוב יותר בלי אנשים המסוגלים להורות כך. אך רגע אחרי המחשבה השמחה הראשונה הזו, עלתה הידיעה המרה שפרידות אלימות שכאלה מן העולם לעולם אינן בודדות. נזכרתי בדבריו של רמטכ"ל מלחמת השחרור של השפה העברית , ב" עכשיו ובימים האחרים ", על רחמי האל הנעדרים . האם זה מוגזם לצפות שכל בני-האדם, כאן ושם, יחמלו על ילדי-הגן, שם וכאן, עכשיו ? ה רחמים  בוודאי כבר מעופפים בדרומה של הארץ, בציפיה עזה לשוך הקרבות.

my internet connection suddenly died  When your connection dies no virtual friend shall hear your cries. No lol, smile or google search shall bring upon a link to earth. The virtual surfer's loneliness has no limits and no bounds. One moment you were within humanity's online wave, the other, once again, you are an outcast, like a knave, or worse, as if thrown to your grave. No longer a part of the race's gestalt one's digital being brought to a halt. Obama fights Romney  Romney fights Obama  shall we rhyme it with mama or with the Dalai Lama ?  Not just a candidate's name,  despite the derived fame.  Each holds so much more -  Lets start with the runner up:  Romney  was the name of an old english man of war ?  it serves as the name of  a  place ,  a  type of sheep  and a geological formation ? But lets not talk on  that candidate's name  any more  for we have another name  upon which to bore: Obama might not suggest as much interpretations but still, the president's name also serves  a city in japan  and an island's highest peak  (truthfully, in his honor as president it was renamed  but it was surely done to spare that peak  from its marshier fame). Happily the president's nickname  adds a few more lines to this silly game as the poet's toil...

XKCD, the great webcomic, suggests another original way to revolutionize our life, and end our current way of life, Forever -  (XKCD licensed this  under a  Creative Commons  Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5  License ) .  Personally, this comic-strip reminds me of Tori Amos' great song, "Crucify " ( lyrics ):

To end or not to end ? to end, to blend ? is there a difference, right there, at the end ? to end, to bend ? is there a difference, if there is no cure, one's memory to mend ? to end, to rend ? is there a difference, too damn busy, yourself to fend ? what won't humanity do, to avoid thinking of it's end ? we vend, we wend, we send, sometimes, we cast our destiny in sand, and our personality we yend, but after all is done or said, what are you doing with your time, except for death to pend ? בעקבות אחד מהמשוררים החביבים עליי , חשבתי ש הרעש סביב ההנפקה של פייסבוק  הוא הזדמנות נהדרת להזכיר עובדה בסיסית בנוגע לפייסבוק, שחשוב לזכור למרות כל ההתלהבות מהרשת החברתית הגדולה בעולם, שבגודלה כבר היום מתחרה עם המדינות הגדולות בעולם (במדידת מספר האנשים הנכנסים אליה בחודש... המדד של כמה אנשים פעילים בה בכל רגע נתון הוא שאלה שעד כמה שהצלחתי לברר, היא קשה הרבה יותר למענה, וכנראה שלא במקרה...) רוב האנשים שאני מכיר נכנסים לפייסבוק כדי לבדוק "מה חדש". אומנם לא כולם מכורים לרשת-החברתית (התמכרות לפייסבוק מוכרת כיום כבעיה אמיתית. יש דרכים למדוד את רמת ההתמכרות ,  מאמרים על משמעויותיה , תהיות בנוגע לשורשיה האמיתיים , דרכים להתמודד איתה והיא כמובן ניתנת למיקום במסגרת ההתמכרות הכוללת לאינטרנט , תופעה מורכבת בפני עצמה), אבל נראה כי כולם מחוברים לזווית-ההתבוננות הזו כשהם בוחנים את החיים הוירטואליים שברשת-החברתית. כתוצאה, בכל פעם כשמישהו סביבי מזכיר את פייסבוק, גם אם אני נענה בהתלהבות, בו בזמן אני גם נזכר באותו ציטוט נושן מ" זן ואמנות אחזקת האופנוע " של רוברט מ. פירסיג  - ...

It wasn't a comet neither a star just a neutron flying afar . The nuclei before him knew not its ahead and before anyone understood we were all dead . Out of Egypt we went after debate and the desert was great ! Then the promise was made and we came to a Land which we took by our hand with Fire and Swords and our own people's might making the land into our's by right. Out we were thrown but then we returned then from our hands the country was riven and away we were driven. Now, once more we are back at our shore but yesterday's sorrow shadows tomorrow. XKCD, the great webcomic, Romantically and hilariously compares a loved one and a summer's day   - (XKCD licensed this  under  a  Creative Commons  Attribution-NonCommercial 2.5  License ) .  Although it was funny, I still prefer the original comparison : Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? התקוה , שבה השבוע לכותרות, כאשר שופט בית המשפט העליון, סלים ג'ובראן , לא שר את ההמנון ועורר את חמתם של חברי הפרלמנט שלנו מצדה הימני של המפה הפוליטית . למקרה שאתם לא זוכרים את המילים, אני מצרף אותן כאן: כֹּל עוֹד בַּלֵּבָב פְּנִימָה נֶפֶשׁ יְהוּדִי הוֹמִיָּה, וּלְפַאֲתֵי מִזְרָח, קָדִימָה, עַיִן לְצִיּוֹן צוֹפִיָּה, עוֹד לֹא אָבְדָה תִּקְוָתֵנוּ, הַתִּקְוָה בַּת שְׁנוֹת אַלְפַּיִם, לִהְיוֹת עַם חָפְשִׁי בְּאַרְצֵנוּ, אֶרֶץ צִיּוֹן וִירוּשָׁלַיִם. השחקנית והזמרת אפרת בן צור   ב ראיון מעניין עם איילת שני שיותר משהוא ראיון, הוא סיפור רב-רבדים על החיים . עצוב, מצחיק, מעניין ומאלף לקרוא שמי שנמצאת בתקופה של פריחה בקריירה שלה - כשחקנית וכזמרת, מסוגלת לומר משפט כמו: "אני בתקופה שאני צריכה אנרגיות. משהו נסחט בי. אולי בגלל ההוצאה של האלבום. בפברואר יש לנו 17 הצגות של "יונה ונער" ויש לי שם תפקיד שאני אוהבת. אבל לשחק 17 פעמים בחודש? אני לא אוהבת. זה מדכא אותי כי זה מה שאני עושה. אז זה מה שאני הולכת לעשות? עוד כמה שנים? לנסוע במיניבוס לאשדוד ולירושלים ולעשות בדיוק את אותה הצגה? למה? ואם אני לא אעשה את זה, מה אני אעשה?" ויש שם עוד הרבה משפטים מעניינים ומעוררי-מחשבה, כמו המשפט שבכותרת הפוסט שמצוטט משם, וכמו אחרים. שווה קריאה.

As I was leafing through Google's materials regarding its new privacy policy , I was sadly thinking about the diminishing concept of privacy. With Facebook slowly sending its tentacles everywhere  and communication companies eavesdropping shamelessly , it seems we must choose between modern life and privacy, and that the choice is being made for us. There used to be times when privacy was a right. But it is clear that sooner, this no longer shall be true. No more. Soon enough, keeping our data to ourselves shall be considered illegitimate. And not too long afterwards, it will probably become a felony. Is it possible that it might be better for our civilization to end at the end of 2012 ? That we start again, a lot less of us, but with a greater commitment to the sound principles of humanity ? Maybe only one rule is required: a complete and utter prohibition on corporations ? מחקר חדש מלמד שכתיבה על נושא שחשוב או קרוב לנו, מועילה באופן מפתיע ביותר . הארץ מדווח שבמחקר "שערכו הפסיכולוגים ג'פרי כהן מאוניברסיטת סטנפורד וכריסטין לוג'ן מאוניברסיטת ווטרלו בקנדה, 45 סטודנטיות התחלקו לשתי קבוצות. אלה שבקבוצת המחקר קיבלו הנחייה פשוטה: לבחור ערך שקרוב לליבן – יצירתיות, פוליטיקה, ספורט, אמונה, אדם אהוב, מוסיקה – ולכתוב על אודותיו במשך כ-15 דקות. הנשים בקבוצת הבקרה התבקשו לכתוב אף הן מאמר על ערך שאינו חשוב להן כלל, ולנסות להסביר איך יכולה להיות לו חשיבות עבור מישהו אחר."  המחקר קבע חד משמעית שנשים אשר כתבו על נושאים הקרובים לליבן "איבדו בממוצע 1.5 קילו ממשקלן, בעוד נשים בקבוצת הבקרה העלו בממוצע 1.25 קילו, בהתאם לתבנית האופיינית בקרב סטודנטים לתואר ראשון". ההשערה של החוקרים היא כי "הכתיבה מתניעה תהליך רקורסיבי - האשה שכתבה על משהו שהיא אוהבת, חוזרת הביתה באותו לילה, הרגישה טוב עם ומבלי משים, לא היתה צריכה לאכול כדי לשפר את הרגשתה." כתוצאה, מתחיל להישבר ההרגל, וככל שהמהלך נמשך, "לאורך כמה שבועות, יכולה להיות לזה הש...

One minute for rationale speech: Yes, I do know that the perception of the 21/12/2012 as the LAST DAY of the MAYAN Calendar is wrong, and it is actually an indication for a change of eons, an end of the 13th Baktun and the beginning of the 14th Baktun, all a part of the great cycle of the Mayan Calendar long count . Now lets get back to having fun: 2012 may be the last year. Ever. Think about it. What would you like to do in this last year of the universe ? What wouldn't you like to do ? As it seems like a very potent line of pondering, I intend to revisit it during the year, in an attempt to create a cycle of songs dealing with the last year notion.
